Vuolin neulaa

Mä halusin tehdä neulaa puulla. Ensin mä käydin oksaa ja veitsia.

我想雕木針頭. 首先我採用刀和樹枝.

I want to make a wooden needle for needlebinding. First I have my trusty knife and a stick from the Finnish nature. 

 (Note: If I wanted to use more stylistically "correct" American English I would have said :the Finnish wilderness, from nature, or from the woods next to my house.  "the Finnish nature" is not idiomatic in English... yet. :)

Sitten mä vuolin kuori pois.

其次把樹皮削掉. 

I whittled off all the bark.

Ja leikasin oksa.

我把不需要的部分切掉.

and then somehow managed to get the branches near the end off.

Sitten mä tehdä reikää

後來刻一個小洞.

I then made a small hole with my knife like so...

Jä tehdä reikä isompaan hiekkapaperilla.

刻完洞需要用沙紙把洞弄更大.

...and made it bigger by sticking a piece of sandpaper through it and sanding it.

Ja paljon hiekkapaperi sitten...

再用沙紙把針頭弄更均勻以後...

Then after a few much sandpaper usage...

Se näyttää tältä.

就做完了!

It was finished!

Ja mä voin käyttää sitä neulakinnastekniikasta.

現在我可以用木針頭作羊毛手套.

Now I can use it to make needle-bound mittens.
